Tips from a Dad…
As we journey through fatherhood, it's common to reflect on our own childhood memories and those lingering "what-ifs," when it comes to our own parents. What if they weren’t always wrong? What if they would have pushed us just a little harder? What if they actually had no clue? Simon Lehman, one of our members & a dad to three kids, has figured out how to cherish the positives and let go of the negatives. You can read his advice below.
“My dad, as much as I loved him, had many shortcomings. Thankfully, I had the ability to learn from this rather than replicate it. My oldest son is now approaching adulthood. Not only does he make me proud in every way possible, but he's fast becoming my best mate. Something I never felt with my own dad.”
Sometimes what hurt us the most as kids can actually make us better parents. Embracing our parents’ mistakes, forgiving them, and paying it forward with our own children allows us to be free to love and lead them in ways they deserve.
